Understanding your household's electricity consumption is crucial for energy management. The My Electric Meter App provides real-time data on electricity usage, allowing users to monitor consumption effectively.
To operate the app, select the "Read LED Directly" option, align your device with the LED indicator on your electric smart meter, and tap "Start." Within moments, the app will present your current electricity usage in Watts.
For optimal functionality, it is necessary to input the "Imp/kWh" value from your digital smart meter. While in "Read LED Directly" mode for accurate readings, you can simultaneously use another device set to "Remote Reader" mode to access readings from a distance. Ensure that both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network for seamless operation.
The integration of My Electric Meter App into Home Assistant as a sensor can be achieved with the following configuration:
